Congratulations to Bob Fawcett our new Events Director!

September 14 - Club Meeting
Membership Report –Welcome new member Barklay
Crozier.
Web Site:
It may be proactive to reach
out to Scarborough/Toronto ATV riders, and collect information on the
Pickering Santa Clause Parade. ATV Times received approx 260 hits on their
Website when Green’s
Mt was advertised on ours. Safety Coalition:
Attitudes at the Council
meeting seem positive
expressing that a great deal can be done (about barriers) to make the trail
system work properly.
Topics
included opening trails and/or removing some barricades - Ask Tony to see a copy
of the minutes.
Burketon
is still non-accessible. Signage has been pulled down.
Clarification:
Perfect Getaway paid $500
for advertising in the Know where to Ride campaign, and the Outback ATV Club
received ‘in
kind donation’ for advertising use.
Thank you Perfect Getaway Guided
Tours!
50/50
draw: $14 to Ron Woolacott - Congratulations!
Recap
of previous events: August 21st - At the
BBQ and Family day approx 20 people enjoyed playing games in the sunny weather.
Hats off to Joe
Stratton, Champion Horseshoes & Shoe kick competitor ~ Thanks
to Karen Lowe for hosting the BBQ
September
9th - At the Orono Fair, many brochures were handed out, but there
were not many significant
ATV
questions overall.
Congratulations to Richard
Bruce for ranking 5th in his class during the ATV Pull!
There was a shortage of volunteers
this year - These events require many bodies on hand for three reasons:
1)
so everyone can change up more often, 2) to make the most of your day at the
fair, 3) means more fun for
all volunteers. The Outback is considering taking part in
the Brooklin Fair next year.
New Business:
EOTA -
Road allowances update Ride right into Town! ~ ATV
by-laws have been passed in the following
townships: Hastings, Madoc Twp, Marmora Lake, Stirling
Rawdon, Tudor, Cashel, and Tweed. ON Trails -
watch for press
release on website heading up ATV use. ATV Ontario - Full
page advertisement in ATV World Magazine
promoting ATV Ontario and EOTA. Newsletter:
~ The
Outback Quarterly Newsletter begins September
2004 - It's just right for keeping in touch members not currently using
the Internet.

Thanks go out to the the
following Orono Fair volunteers:
Carl Fisher, Doug
Eddy, Richard Bruce, Tim Switzer, Karen Atherton, Bob Fawcett,
Joe Stratton, Carl
Bowen, Dan Gallant, Tony & Trallee Fanara.
August 10 - Club Meeting
EOTA -
60/40 split on membership funds -
Cindy Cassidy is also selling
Outback memberships
Safety Coalition
will be reconvening in September:
Tony is a Representative for
the Ganaraska Forest
$500 paid by Perfect Getaway for advertising -
‘gift in kind’ to Outback ATV.
Boundary Rd
gate - Tony attended for 2hrs.
There was a Motor home and command
unit officials,
but not many people
there. New Business: Orono Fair Parade - Cost: $25, free passes for
volunteers,
Tony will request same
spot as last year.
July 13 - Club Meeting
EOTA:
A thank you letter was sent to Cindy Cassidy, Manager, via e-mail. Agreement
with EOTA for the sale of memberships and permits. New maps are
out. Landmarks have been
added, and there are three more areas: Nappanee, Brighton, and Bellville.
OFATV:
The Advertisement in the
All Terrain Vehicle Magazine by the OFATV is a misrepresentation of what is
offered by EOTA & ATV Ontario.
On Trails:
Tony has
been nominated for director.
ATV Ontario:
See
www.ATVOntario.com
for destinations.
Plans are to add four more destination sites each season.
Ganaraska Forest:
Two new
outhouses have been added.
Work is
still being done on their new map. Look Out Hill - motion to post a sign that
states ‘stay off face of hill’, while advertising the Outback ATV Club
Website. MB Tony F., SB Tim S.
50/50 Draw: Richard
Miller won $14 - Congratulations!
June 8 - Club Meeting
Boundary Rd Residents
are complaining about riders, but the barricade issue is still pending.
No motorized vehicles
are allowed on the Oakridge Moraine, as stated at the Counsel meeting.
The region sees the
need to support finding a trail system for ATV use. Ultimately it is not
a Clarington issue,
because it involves the neighbouring municipalities - Durham, Stouffville, etc.
Joe Stratton won $32
on the 50/50 draw.
At the May 24th Poker
Run 26 machines participated, and insurance was covered by the dollars taken in
from the event.
No proceeds were made,
but everybody had fun.
The following prizes
were awarded:
1st Place
$150 to Darryl & Pam Alexander
2nd Place
$90 to Neil Mitchell
3rd Place
$60 to Carl Bowen

Thanks go out to the the
following volunteers:
Tim Switzer & Karen
Atherton, Joe Stratton, Ron Woolacott,
Bob Fawcett, Ginny & Carl
Bowen
May 11, 2004 - Club
Meeting
EOTA Trail mapping and
insurance is in place. The EOTA passes, and
Outback memberships
are sold on a per machine basis. On Trails is a support organization
for trail operators
like OFSC & OFATV - Tony Fanara has been nominated for director.
ATV Safety displays
are being held throughout Durham by Connie Vail, Durham Region of Health.
At the April 18th
Northumberland Ride, 25 machines took part in a 50 km run.

July 13,
2003 - Volunteer Forest Clean-up & Social Ride
Twenty-one machines
joined together on what turned out to be a beautiful day to ride. The two
days rain prior to this unofficial gathering helped keep the dust down, and the
volunteers managed to remove several over-blown trees and branches for safer
riding and trail access. After that, the group headed towards Rice Lake
for a lunch at Britts Bar and Grill and then back again - covering over eighty
kilometers of trail for the tour. It was a pleasure to be out with
everyone, and was quite the adventure -- something we can build on for our first
official Club Event this August. We will recap the outing at our next Club
Meeting July 22, 2003.
